Trans-Siberian Orchestra for an Early Birthday Present

You’ve heard me say this on several occasions, but my wife is awesome! This time, she got me tickets to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra this past Sunday. It was for their Christmas tour, and it was amazing! They had a great show. I took several photos and a couple videos. Even though I thought they turned out well, they don’t capture the entire atmosphere of the concert. I strongly encourage you to check out a show if you can!!

Puerto Rico 2011 Mission Trip Photos

Hey, everyone. I know I’ve not been updating lately. I apologize. I’ve been busy, and I’ve also been sick. I’ve had a virus for about two weeks now, that I am finally getting over.

Until my next post, I hope you will enjoy some photos from our recent mission trip to Puerto Rico. I would like to especially thank those who gave financially and prayed for us!

“Don’t Fade Away” Volunteer Song from Orange Conference 2011

Each year at the Orange Conference, they perform a song for all volunteers in the church, specifically those serving in children’s and student ministries. I can honestly say they are often overlooked and not appreciated enough. I know that I personally would be up a creek without my awesome team of volunteers! To all my volunteers and the others out there serving God in sometimes tough situations, thank you!!

Needtobreathe at Orange Conference 2011

I was very excited when I heard that one of my favorite bands, needtobreathe, would be performing at the 2011 Orange Conference. I filmed three of their most well-known songs to share with you.

“Lay ‘Em Down”

“Washed by the Water” (started halfway through)

“The Outsiders”

A Look Inside the Arena at Orange Conference 2011

For those of you who have not attended an Orange Conference, I thought I would take a quick video of what the inside of the arena looks like as I waited for one of the main sessions to start. You will see Tim and Nolan too!

Baptism from April 3, 2011

Yesterday, I was able to baptize another student in our youth group. He’s an awesome kid, and I’m really looking forward to what God is going to do through him. This is just another time when I am reminded of how awesome my job is. Thank you God for this blessing!!

For some reason, WordPress.com doesn’t allow me to embed Facebook videos within my blog, so here is the link to the page on Facebook where you can watch the video.

Celil Refik Kaya

Celil Refik Kaya, a friend of our lead minister’s daughter performed at RCC on March 6, 2011. He played several songs, and this is one of them. He is an amazing classically trained guitar player from the country of Turkey, and there is a really good chance you will see and hear a lot more of him in the future!

If you search Celil’s name on YouTube, you can find many other video, which showcase his incredible talent.

Snow Day – Jan. 12, 2011

For those friends and family of ours who don’t live near us, here is a glimpse of what the weather is like around here today. We woke up to a thick blanket of snow covering everything. I’m not sure on the official word, but I’m pretty sure it is over 1 foot of snow.

My First Boston Celtics Game

Since moving to New England, I have been getting into their sports teams little by little. It was pretty easy to become a Red Sox fan, since they won the championship the year I moved. However, one team that I am just now getting behind is the Celtics. It is still hard for me to cheer for them when they play the Bulls, but that’s about it. They are a great team, and I am learning more and more about the players.

My awesome wife embraces my love for sports, and she has given me tickets twice in our two years of marriage. The first was for a Revolution (Major League Soccer) game. The second came for my birthday this past month. The tickets were for the Celtics game against the Rockets on January 10. It would be my first Celtics game, and my second NBA game ever.

The game was great, even though the Celtics lost. Houston was just having an awesome shooting night, as they probably hit 80% of their shots. It was a cool experience to be in that type of environment. With Celtics fans surrounding us and some popular players down on the court, we had an excellent time! We got to see Shaq, Rondo, Allen, Pierce, and the rest of the Celtics. The only one we missed was Garnett, since he was out with an injury.

Check out some photos in my Facebook album.

Below is a video of the starting lineup from the game.

Skiing at Waterville Valley

My wife, bother-in-law, and sister-in-law, and I went skiing at Waterville Valley on January 3, 2011. Here is a quick glimpse into the day. The video is taken from the top of one of the lifts and going down one of the trails.
