As many of you know, I have been serving at a church in town since late October. Not long after I began, they asked me if I knew of any organizations in the northeast that did mission trips. I quickly answered, “Yes, I do,” and soon after, we began planning our high school mission trip to New England to serve with workcampNE, an organization very near and dear to me. In fact, I’ve been on their board of directors for over 10 years.

We had a great time serving the residents of southern New Hampshire, and it was so much fun showing the students and leaders where we used to live and serve when we used to live there. Throughout the week, we did minor home repairs for local residents who, for various reasons, could not do the repairs themselves or afford to pay someone—things like painting, building decks, and putting on new roofs.

We even had one resident make a decision to follow Jesus and get baptized during the week! That was a workcampNE first, and we were all so excited that it happened during our week there!

If you want to see more of what we did there, check out workcampNE’s YouTube channel that contains daily recap videos.

Yvette and I also took them to Rockingham Christian Church—where we used to serve—and showed them around Boston and the coast. And we had a great time connecting with former students, area youth leaders, ministry supporters, and more while we were there. It was so great to see everyone, and we really wish we could have spent more time with each one of them!! While it was a jam-packed week, we had such a great time!

As my support team grows in New England, I do plan on getting out there on a more regular basis to visit those team members and support youth pastors in that area. Please pray that God will supply for those transportation needs. Also pray that God will raise up more leaders in New England, especially those who have a desire and calling to serve teenagers and families!
