Soon after I accepted the call to step into a full-time role with NNYM, I began dreaming of getting Colorado youth leaders together for mutual encouragement, support, and rest. Here we are, less than two years later, and we had not only one, but two retreats this month!
The first was the Refuel Retreat, hosted by LeaderTreks—an amazing youth ministry organization that offers curriculum, mission trips, and more. I was asked to join as a guest and simply show my support to the youth ministry leaders who came from all over Colorado and other parts of the country. Together, we were able to rest but also to learn more ways to disciple the students in our ministries.
The second was at Camp Elim in Woodland Park. This free (yes, free) retreat was a great balance of refreshment for our bodies, souls, and minds. Not only did we get great teaching that helped us grow in our knowledge of God but we also had times to race on their zip-line, complete the high-ropes course, shoot archery, and throw hatchets.
While both retreats are planning to happen again in 2025, the one at Camp Elim is one I really want to ask you to pray about. We want to continue enhancing this but also to keep this at no cost to all Colorado youth leaders. So pray that God will provide all that’s needed. And if you want to contribute to making that happen, please contact me!
