So, as many of you know, I went back to Lincoln, IL, last week for the purpose of speaking at Lincoln Christian College about what’s going on in the area of Youth Ministry out here in New England. It ended up going very well. I feel as if I bored the students to death and didn’t give them much info, but several of them came and talked to me afterwards about stuff, so it ended up going well.
What some of you probably did not know is that I had bought a ring and planned on asking Yvette to marry me on Monday night. After dinner at the place we had our first date, we headed to Jeff Street (where we first met) to meet up with some friends I haven’t seen in a while. Little did she know, those friends had everything set up (low lights, candles, & music). We danced, and I went through my big speech I’d been practicing all day. Then at the end of the dance, I knelt down and asked her. She was completely surprised and said YES about 20 times!
We’re still not sure on a date, but I will let everyone know as soon as we plan it. We’re shooting for early next year, as Yvette will finish her graduate classes this December.
