UPDATE (8/18/10) — Sarah is doing much better, and she even updated her own Facebook status with this message: “Sarah is feeling much better and thanks everyone from the bottom of her heart for their prayers and concerns!” So, thank you for praying for her! You all are amazing!!

UPDATE (8/2/10) — I just got this info from a friend: She is no longer in intensive care and is more stabilized this morning. She has had a fever but is fighting it off herself without medication, and because its a low grade fever it is showing that her body can fight it. Prayers are still greatly accepted for her to fight off the rest of this infection.

ORIGINAL POST (8/1/10) — I just heard that a student (now 21 years old) from my previous ministry in IL is in the hospital. She had a kidney stone, which was too large to pass. When they went in to remove it, they found that she had a kidney infection that has spread to her lungs. She is currently on a ventilator and in critical condition, because her lungs are not functioning on their own. Her name is Sarah. Please pray for a miracle!

One of the hardest things about being called by God is that He might take you far away from friends and family. In times like this, where my wife and I really want to be there, we know that God is there. It is our prayer that He wraps His amazing arms around her and takes care of her in this horribly scary moment.
