How to reach people in today’s culture?
You have to have the right product and translate it into their language. You have to learn what you have to offer those people. But if you move too close to what society is already, you have nothing to offer anymore. Be okay with some change, but know what you have to offer and don’t stray from that. You define yourself by every human contact that you have. They must all be saying the same language through their speech and actions.
When it comes to leadership crisis, how do we navigate it, especially as young leaders?
Leadership starts with self. Who do you want to be a year from now, 10 years from now, etc.? Once you understand who you want to be, you have to accomplish today what you want to do today. You’re not in the future. Your success is here today. Define yourself right now for who you want to be tomorrow, and be led by your dream for the future. Don’t wait for society to define you. You are the one who defines you.
When it comes to seeing the light, how can we see the light in others?
We are ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen. We have hotels everywhere. People are human beings everywhere. They all want to belong, be respected, and they all have dreams and visions. The highest honor of leadership is that we can positively impact the people’s lives that we work with to help them have high intent with their lives. Excellence is not an accident. It’s always the result of high intent with your work. It also involves a bigger vision and in doing your very best to accomplish that every day. And that vision needs to be for everyone and something God approves of. And if you have a vision like that, you cannot compromise it!
What’s one thing you’re excited about for the future?
I thought our world was hopeless, but that all changed when I came here today and saw you all.
