What a week!  No, I’m not talking about this one, although it is also a busy one.  I’m talking about 2 weeks ago.  Yes, I know…go ahead and yell at me.  I’m sorry I’ve not blogged since my road trip.  This one is to catch you up on what’s been going on.

First, the road trip.  It was long and short all at the same time.  The drive was long, but the time with family/friends was was too short.  On the way to IL, Mark and I changed our route as we were driving so that we would also go through Maryland.  So, in total, I added 3 new states to my list on the way out (New Jersey, Maryland, and West Virginia).  I spent time with family in West Frankfort, spent time with friends in Lincoln, and then picked up Yvette before driving back out to NH.  On the way back, we stopped by Niagra Falls, which was pretty amazing!  I will hopefully have pictures up soon.  They are still on my camera right now, and I cannot find my USB cable.  The one I posted on this blog is from Mark’s camera.

Second, I am so overwhelmed with this thesis.  I do not mean the work, either.  I’m more talking about the idea behind it.  The more I do research, the more I think that I’ve got to find a way to put a mentoring program in place at my church.  Currently, I do not know what that will look like, but I’m sure it needs to happen.  I am overwhelmed with research, but I think I am ready to accept that’s just how it is.  Keep praying for me as I hope to finish this thing by December.

Finally, Yvette is now in Boston.  I took her down on May 20, and she jumped in full force on the 21st.  She’s loving it!  She just told me last night how she felt God has been preparing her and the students for this summer.  Everything seems to be going perfectly.  Please keep her in your prayers as she continues to figure out God’s will for her career.  It is great having her closer too, as I get to see her about once a week instead of once every other month or so.  Wedding plans are slowly coming along.  She has ordered her dress, and we just got our rings Monday.  We are currently trying to figure out how we will do pre-marital counseling, since we will not actually be around Brian (who is marrying us) until late December.  We’ve thought about using Skype.  If you have any ideas, or have done this before, let us know.

Well, I think that’s it for now.  Thanks for being patient as it took me quite a while to find some time to blog again.
