Over the past year, as our economy has been going “downhill,” I’ve often asked myself, “What does this have to do with me?”  As I sit here listening to our new President, Barak Obama, speak to Elkhart, IN, and the entire country about his plan for the economy, I can’t help but ask myself this question once again.  Unfortunately, I finally have answers.  My wife, who just moved out after the wedding, is now looking for a job…while many others are losing jobs.  All the while, we are living on a single income in an area where the cost of living is quite high.  Even though we do not have much, and we try to live within our means (even going as far as owning only one vehicle), we still have things we cannot avoid.  We still have to pay for laundry, food, heat, electricity, rent, gas, insurance, etc.  At the same time, I have a father who works for a tire company.  If you haven’t noticed, the US car industry isn’t in the best shape right now.

Overall, I want you to know that I am committing to praying for this situation.  It’s sad that we have to depend on money so much, but that’s just the world we live in.  I know God will take care of Yvette and I.  I know that He will provide.  Sure, it is tough and it can get confusing sometimes as we wait for Him to act.  Until then, I will stay committed to my Father, who has ALWAYS provided just what I needed.  May He give our country’s leaders wisdom as they take care of us.

I’d love to hear your thoughts/prayers!  Also, if any of you are struggling or know someone who is, please know that there is a God in heaven who cares so much for you.  He is preparing a wonderful and perfect place for you if you choose to live for Him…a place where we will not have to worry about stuff like this EVER AGAIN.  This is not our home…
