I just saw “The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader” for the second time tonight. This time, though, it was in final form and in 3D. Overall, I was very pleased again. I cannot recommend this movie enough. While there are differences from the book, I do not think they matter as much as the changes they made in “Prince Caspian.” In fact, I think most of the changes helped the movie plot.
As for the 3D version, I will say that it is mostly not worth the extra money you will pay. Sure, it looks stunning! However, having experienced the movie in both 2D and 3D, I can honestly say that my experiences were pretty much the same. There were a few scenes that looked great in 3D, especially when they are sailing, but there was never a time when I felt completely overwhelmed.
With all that being said, please go out and support this movie! I really really want them to make the rest of the books into movies, and that will only happen if they make a good profit. I know some of you probably think I work for them or something…and while I have volunteered to do so for the last two movies, that is not the case for this one. I am just a huge fan of Narnia and C.S. Lewis.
