If you know me at all, you know that one of my favorite Christian bands was/is Audio Adrenaline. They were the first band I started following in Christian Rock, I own all their albums, and I have seen them in concert at least six times (I lost count). While I understood why they needed to “retire” a few years ago due to Mark’s voice, I was still bummed.
Well… Guess who is back? Yep! Since most of the original band members have moved on, they have a new group of guys who will carry the AudioA name. Will returns on bass, and Mark will still be present in the writing and management of the band, but there are new guys at lead vocals, guitar, keyboard, and drums. Who will be the new front man? Believe it or not, Kevin Max Smith (previously of dc Talk) will now take the role of lead vocalist.
While this leaves me with mixed feelings, mainly because I would have liked them to just start a new band with a new name instead of giving AudioA a totally different sound, I am VERY pleased with their first song. (Check it out below.) The best thing about it is that, how I understand it, all the proceeds will go to the Hands and Feet Project (an orphanage in Haiti). How great is that!?
