I just wanted to write a quick blog post to let you know that we are back from our vacation in Los Angeles.  We were able to see a lot, and we had a great time.  Expect photos and videos to be posted soon to Facebook and YouTube.  But until then, I’ll do my best to list the major things that we did.

  • Hollywood — driving tour of celebrity homes and Hollywood sign, walking tour behind the scenes of several big movie set and theaters, wax museum, tour of Kodak theater, walked around Hollywood Blvd.
  • Universal Studios City Walk — ate at Hard Rock Cafe, looked around at the shops, watched Toy Story 3 at the AMC theater, got a free caricature drawn of us, and ate some amazing mini donuts.
  • Santa Monica — walked along the pier, laid around on the beach, walked along Ocean Avenue, and watched people at Muscle Beach.
  • Downtown L.A. — went to Mosaic Church, went to the E3 Expo (Steve only), got a massage (Yvette only), saw the Staples Center before and after NBA Finals, went to Video Games Live (orchestra) concert at Nokia Theater, ate at several cool places, and saw lots of cool shops.

All in all, it was a great and relaxing vacation!  When it was all said and done, we were ready to head back home, which I think is the mark of a good trip.  There were so many more things to do, but it will have to wait until next time.

For those wondering, we did not get to do our service project, because the place we were going to serve required you to have closed-toe shoes, and Yvette didn’t have any (and we couldn’t find any cheap enough in the shops).  Next time, we’re just planning on doing twice as much to make up for this one.

  1. Oh it would have been nice to have known in advance about the service thing, lol. Definitely make up for it the second time around. Sounds like an fun and relaxing trip, hopefully you feel refreshed and ready to do what you do best!
